The "Mercury Dime", produced by the United States Mint between 1916 and 1945 from 90% silver and 10% copper, was actually the Winged Liberty Dime. But Lady Liberty, in her winged cap, was often mistaken for the Roman god Mercury. This 1941 version shows Liberty on a delicate 18" box chain marked "925 Italy" that acid tests as silver. Total weight is 3.8 grams.
